Come Thou Fount

Lyrics

Verse 1
Come, Thou Fount of every mercy, tune my wandering heart to sing;
streams of grace that never fail me call for songs that loudly ring;
teach me some celestial measure sung by flaming hosts above —
praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it, mount of Thy redeeming love.
Chorus
Come, Thou Fount, and never leave me, bind my roaming heart to Thee;
here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts to be;
prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love —
here's my heart, O take and seal it with Thy grace from heaven above.
Verse 2
Here I raise my stone of blessing, hither by Thy help I've come,
and I hope, by Thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home;
Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering far away from God —
He, to rescue me from danger, bought me with His precious blood.
Verse 3
Every promise Thou hast spoken, like a river, will not cease;
in the desert of my wandering Thou art fountain, Thou art peace;
when my faith is faint and failing, Thou dost hold me by Thy grace —
till the day I stand rejoicing in the brightness of Thy face.
Bridge
O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be —
let that grace now, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Chorus
Come, Thou Fount, and never leave me, bind my roaming heart to Thee;
here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts to be;
prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love —
here's my heart, O take and seal it with Thy grace from heaven above.
